ACTA Reacts to Passage of Legislation Creating the Institute of American Civics in Tennessee

May 1, 2022

In 2022, the Tennessee General Assembly considered an amendment to Senate Bill 2410 that would establish the Institute of American Civics at the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. The institute is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the structures and institutions of federal, state, and local government, as well as promote civil discourse and constructive debate. The bill passed with overwhelming bipartisan support and was signed by Governor Bill Lee in April.
